Parking Structures Surface Lots Mobility Hubs

Low light, moving vehicles, and plate capture that has to actually work

Parking video fails for predictable reasons: headlight glare, vehicles moving faster than the shutter, and cameras positioned where a plate is never square to the lens. Plate capture is an engineering problem, not a product selection. DWG helps operators get it right.

Plate capture is geometry and light, not megapixels

A higher-resolution camera in the wrong position and the wrong light produces the same unusable image as a cheap one.

We help position and specify for capture rather than coverage, evaluate LPR platforms against how the footage will actually be used, review bills of materials for structure, surface lot and entry separately, and confirm what lighting is needed for the result you want. How the work gets done is shaped around you: we can coordinate with the integrator or contractor you already use, bring the right integration and field resources in ourselves, or anything in between — whatever the project needs.

How we engage

The greatest opportunity to improve a project exists before anything is purchased. We support every phase — the earlier we're involved, the more value we add.

1. Plan

Requirements, constraints, budget and timing.

2. Evaluate

Comparison across manufacturers, integration with what's installed, cybersecurity review.

3. Specify

Specification assistance, BOM review, value engineering, lifecycle costing.

4. Procure

Quoting, availability, lead times and supply-chain flags.

5. Deploy

Coordinated delivery and deployment, with the resources managed as one project.

6. Support

Technical support, spares and refresh planning.

Questions we help you answer

Most suppliers focus on selling products. We focus on helping you make an informed decision — and these are the questions worth settling first.

  • Will plate capture actually work at our entry speed and lighting?
  • What lighting do we need for this to function?
  • How does this tie into revenue control and gates?
  • What covers stairwells and elevator lobbies?
  • Can we cover a surface lot without power at the perimeter?
  • How long do we retain, and for what purpose?
  • Can one design repeat across our other facilities?

Answered early, these prevent the expensive corrections that surface once equipment is on site.

Vendor-neutral technical expertise

DWG works across a broad portfolio of leading security manufacturers. Rather than promoting a single product line, we help you evaluate qualified solutions on the criteria that matter.

Technical criteria

  • Technical requirements and objectives
  • Performance and interoperability
  • Standards compliance
  • Cybersecurity considerations

Commercial criteria

  • Availability and lead time
  • Lifecycle cost
  • Budget alignment
  • Future scalability

Resource coordination

  • Work with the integrator or contractor you already use
  • Bring in integration, field and engineering resources where you need them
  • Product, engineering and deployment coordinated as one project
  • Shaped around what the end user needs, not a fixed model
